Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the western world, and heart disease is the number one global killer. Is 1 + 1 = 2?
The latest research may have found a link. Researchers looked at the stifness of arteries of non, low, middle and high coffee drinkers. And the results were not good.
“We have shown that caffeine acutely increases aortic stiffness and wave reflections,”
"Which may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease," they conclude.
