Diets: Low Fat or Low Carb, your fat cells don't care

In a new study that compared a low fat diet to a low carb diet the effects on human fat tissue was studied. Both groups lost a comparable amount of weight. Interesting point of this study is the fact that researchers looked at what was happening at the lowest level in your fat cells: Is the response of the fat cells different when you either follow a low fat or low carb diet?

The answer: NO the genes involved in losing fat from your fat cells showed no difference. They seem to respond only to the energy restriction from your diet.

But this does not mean that following a diet does not influence other aspects like how satisfied do you feel, how fast do you get hungry again and how other cell types and tissue respond (muscle etc).
