Whey Protein and Carbs supplements PRE workout better than POST

Many weight lifters are taking whey protein and carb supplements immediately after their workout. If you have not been following any reasearch you may think this is the logical thing to do. But if you have been paying attention over the last years you should have picked up on a few things.
First carbs after the the training are good. Protein, even fast protein like whey, make the blood go the to digestion system instead of your muscles. In the first half hour this is not what you want.

A study from a few years ago already showed that taking a whey/carb supplement directly before your workout is way better than taking it after. Even manufacturers of whey protein are finally putting this on their supplements. And most weight gainers for post workout already contain much more carbs than protein.

Blood flow to a muscle can be 324% when taking it PRE workout and increase by 201% when taking it after your workout. That's a huge difference!
This results in an uptake difference of aminor acids (the building blocks of protein) to the muscles that is actually a whopping 3 times bigger when you take your when before the workout.

So if you ever get any advice of taking a whey or protein shake directly after your workout, you are probably talking to someone who has been weightlifting too much and not following any recent development or reading old message boards posts.
