Diet: Eating to Fight Boredom, Stress, Loneliness
U.K. researchers have found that almost half of British adults use food if they are feeling bored, loneliny and stressed. The survey by a British clinic found 43 percent of adults eat to change a negative mood.
A quarter feels guilty right after eating and another quarter feel the route to happiness is to be thinner.
The survey of 2,000 people showed 47 percent of adolescents aged 16-24 and 40 percent of those aged 35-44 had eaten because they were bored. A quarter of women and people aged 45-54 have eaten because of stress. Others ate after arguing with their partner.
