Metabolic Typing Diets this years most idiotic idea for your health
Eventhough we have many more days to go this year we can already award the award for one of those strange ideas in diets. According to some of these diets you would want to test your metabolic type either to carb, mixed or protein. This is done by some simple questions like:
"How much do you enjoy sour foods like pickles, sauerkraut, or vinegar?"
I don't know about you. But sometimes I feel like having a pickle on my hamburger. And sometimes I don't. But apparently this will tell you how much protein you will need. It makes you wonder what kind of tests and studies they did to test this.
What’s even more strange is the numbers that come with each type.
Carb Type: 25% Protein / 15% Fat / 60% Carbohydrate Mixed Type: 30% Protein / 20% Fat / 50% Carbohydrate Protein Type: 40% Protein / 30% Fat / 30% Carbohydrate
And what’s even stranger is that you are supposed to get these carbs from vegetables mostly. Now try and eat 1500 calories from vegetables… Do you think this diet will work for most people? Or how about eating 40% of protein? I think anybody how knows something about health also knows that there are no long term effects of such a diet yet. Even Atkins is not promoting itself as a high protein diet. (although many think it is) And one of the funniest things mentioned Broccoli is recommend for mixed and carb types, yet if you are on the protein diet Spinach is recommended.
An award that is probably not going to be taken by any other idea this year.
