Fish Oil Supplements tested better for you Health than Fish
Fish oil is reported to have many health benefits like:
A Healthy Heart Healthy Joint Movement Fish Oil Reduces Stroke Fish Oil Cuts Risk of Sudden Death Evidence That Fish Oil Helps Heart Disease Fish Oil in Pregnancy Can Prevent Diabetes Fish Oil Can Improve Lupus Symptoms A Healthy Brain A Healthy Immune System Balanced Mood and Sense of Well Being Healthy Kidneys Strength and Stamina and more...
But over the last year there have also been some reports that some fish, and maybe fish oil supplements, are contaminated with mercury, PCBs and other toxins, which obviously are not healthy.
Consumer Lab has tested 41 (!) fish oil supplements:
“Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) from fish and other marine sources may reduce the risk the heart disease, improve symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and be useful in the prevention and treatment of many other diseases.
But three omega-3 products failed ConsumerLab tests. Some products didn't contain their labeled amounts. One was spoiled. However, none of the products were contaminated with mercury or PCBs— unlike some popular types of fish.”
So if you are not sure about eating fish, or if you don’t like fish, fish oil supplements look like a good choice.
