how to Jump/Slam a 360 Dunk in Basketball
Ok here it is the StayLimy 360 dunk/slam basketball guide! To be able to do a full 360 dunk learn a 180 dunk first which is covered in another basketball guide.
The 360 dunk is done using a two foot jump. So if you can’t jump from both feet don’t even try this one. If you have any knee injuries don’t try this dunk either. If you have weak knees don’t do or try this dunk either. In other words this is something that should be done by an elite basketball player. This means you have to be able to do at least a dunk from both your feet: standing still, running and reverse.
If you look at the next dunk pattern you will see the mechanics involved.
Now that looks simple but it isn’t! Note this is a dunk pattern for a right handed basketball player, using your right hand to slam to ball. If you can do it with both hands then you shouldn’t be reading this ;), go play in the NBA.
Okay when you do this dunk the first few times, try to do it without the basketball. Just try to make the jump and try to grab or touch the front of the rim. This dunk/slam can be a real ankle/knee breaker because you not only have to have to right jump mechanics but also the right spin and touch down technique. Especially on touch down I have found that you can seriously hurt your ankle :(.
If you can do this jump/dunk without the ball you can try it with the ball. I would suggest try it coming from the side first. You are basically making a 180 dunk but try to change your angle of approach a little each time.
Some notes for the 360 dunk: - You do not need a lot of speed for this dunk, it’s probably better if you don’t have that much speed - Really try to step into this jump by relaxing your last steps. - The direction before your last step will determine the direction of your dunk. Don’t try to change direction with the jump. You will loose height and put more strain on your joints. - Watch some of the NBA players like Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant, etc to see how they do it.
