Single Set VS Multiple Sets in Weight lifting Beginner/Advanced
According to a new study by the University of Pennsylvania single set strength programs are more suited for starting weight lifters and multiple sets produced better results in strength for experienced weight lifters. The study made a quantitative analysis of single- vs. multiple-set programs in resistance training. 16 studies were reviewed comparing single- vs. multiple-set programs for both beginner and experienced training subjects in resistance training.
So there you have it. Use a single set when you start out with weight lifting and more sets when you progress and want to improve you strength.
