Why Vegetarian Diets help you Lose Weight and Lower Cholesterol
Doctors, nutritionists and dieticians are not always eager to advice a vegetarian diet. One of the reasons is that they think people will not like such a diet because why would someone stop eating meat. For some people who have high cholesterol or want to loose weight this is really less of an issue sometimes. Just consider what people put them selves through when they try out some new or very restrictive diet. If you look at it from this angle vegetarian style diets are not bad at all.
Some also question why and how vegetarian diets works. Well that’s not really such a big mystery at all. Consider the amount of saturated fats in most meat, the butter you use to bake it and one last thing, the amount of salt in meat.
Just compare a piece of meat to the same amount of vegetables, soy or even an egg. Vegetables are simply the lowest calorie foods available and usually offer many healthy things you will not get from vitamin pills. Just try to compare a vegetarian meal with a normal meal you are eating and you will find you will probably be
- Eating healthier - Eat less fat, and especially saturated fats - Eating fewer calories - Are more satisfied - Eating less salt
In some cases you will find that you can eat up to 5 plates of a vegetarian dish compared to a non vegetarian meal.
If you are looking for a natural way to loose weight, lower your cholesterol, blood pressure and your general well being and stay limy give a vegetarian diet a try. And of course you don’t have to give up meat at all. There are many types of changes possible. Eat a vegetarian meal every other day. Or only eat a meal with meat when you really feel the need to eat meat.
