high fat high carbohydrate meal/diet damage blood vessels
Eat a 900-calorie breakfast consisting of a fried egg sandwich and hash browns after an overnight fast and you will be simulating research carried out by endocrinologists at the university of Buffalo. The researchers carried out a study on 9 normal-weight subjects and measured levels of inflammatory factors. These remained high for three-to-four hours after the meal.
According to the researchers eating such meals regulary can put your blood vessels in a chronic state of inflammation.
This is yet another confirmation that our wester diet of high carbs/high fat might not be the ideal combination. Eating either moderate protein/high fat like in the atkins diet or eating smaller portions might prove to be a better solution when more research is done.
