McDonald's will offer bunless burgers nationally
And yet another win for the low carb revolution. McDonald's Corp said it plans to offer bunless versions of its hamburgers and chicken sandwiches nationally by early next month.
"This is about consistent presentation," according to McDonald's spokesman Bill Whitman. McDonald's doesn't plan to advertise the option. Nor is it likely to appear on menu boards. Restaurant brochures will note it, however.
But you wont notice it when paying for your burger. Without the bun it will cost the same as the burger with the regular sandwich.
StayLimy.com calculation:
Hamburger 3.7 oz(105 g) 280 calories (from nutritional info) Big Mac 7.8 oz(219 g) 600 calories
without the bun about:
Hamburger about 180 calories Big Mac about 500 calories
